Aeroborn develops advanced carbon materials from two underused industrial streams: captured CO₂ and battery black mass.
Founded in the Netherlands, with operations in Rotterdam and Athens, we build patented and patent-pending process platforms and take them from the lab to industrial pilots, together with the emitters, recyclers and manufacturers who will use them.

From a single pilot to two platforms, each step funded, built and tested in Rotterdam.
Our first pilot in Rotterdam turned captured CO₂ into solid carbon by decomposition, supported by Kansen voor West.
A TRL 7 unit in an industrial Fieldlab, connected to CO₂ from major emitters, now being commissioned to make carbon and upgrade it into activated carbon.
Europe's first industrial pilot line recovering battery-grade graphite from black mass, at RDM with the Just Transition Fund and the Province of Zuid-Holland.
Recovered graphite verified in testing at Bournemouth University and under evaluation with three European battery makers.

The programmes, partners and industry bodies behind our work.

We design for measurable material properties, robust process control and a clear application fit.
CO₂ and battery black mass are valuable feedstocks when they can be processed into reliable industrial inputs.
Development is guided by customer requirements, qualification pathways and scalable production, not broad sustainability claims.
We work with feedstock providers, industrial partners and material customers to move from platform development to qualified supply.
