About Aeroborn

Short description

Aeroborn makes carbon materials from industrial waste in Rotterdam. Its two patented and patent-pending platforms recover battery-grade graphite from recycled batteries and turn captured CO₂ into activated carbon with ash below 0.5%.

Full boilerplate

Aeroborn develops advanced carbon materials from two underused industrial streams: battery black mass and captured CO₂. Its Battery Recycling and Upgrading platform (patented) recovers battery-grade graphite from black mass and upgrades it into few-layer graphene, with performance matching virgin graphite in testing at Bournemouth University; the material is under evaluation with three European battery makers. Its CO₂ Conversion and Upgrading platform (patents pending) decomposes captured CO₂ into solid carbon and upgrades it into activated carbon with ash below 0.5%, for supercapacitors, catalyst supports and purification. Aeroborn builds at the RDM Innovation Dock in the Port of Rotterdam, operates in the Netherlands and Greece, and is backed by the EU Just Transition Fund, EFRO Kansen voor West and the Province of Zuid-Holland.
